Solvent inkjet printing is used to produce large format signage and the inks are solvent-based, as opposed to water-based. These inks work well with substrates that are flexible, like un-coated vinyl.
Solvent inks actually etch into the vinyl with the solvent carrier of the ink then evaporating. This leaves a permanent solution that lasts for a long time and under difficult conditions. Solvent inkjet printing is waterproof, fade-resistant, scratch-resistant. It is very cost effective. Using a
premium vinyl with an over-laminate will create a sign that can last for years - even in direct sunlight!
Uses for solvent inkjet printing include vinyl vehicle wraps, vinyl outdoor banners, fabric adhesive decals, printed vinyl fence covers, vinyl letters, vinyl banners, wall murals, vinyl wallpaper, window graphics (also known as window banners or window slicks) and many other applications.
